Idaho State University Is The Largest In Idaho
Pocatello, Idaho is the location for Idaho State University’s main campus. The university is the largest university, public or private, in the state of Idaho. The university offers over 280 degree programs and is the leading university in the state for medical and healthcare education. The institution was chartered by Governor Frank Hunt in 1901, with the name of the Academy of Idaho, and its name was changed many times over the next sixty years. In 1963, the college was renamed for the last time to Idaho State University. There are three other campuses located across the state in Twin Falls, Idaho Falls, and Meridian. As of 20012 there are nearly 15,000 students attending the university in its four locations across the state.
Located in the southeastern Idaho town of Pocatello, the university offers many activities for its students and faculty. The city of Pocatello offers many outdoor activities and scenery for those that love the outdoors. The university offers many programs fro its students including NCAA Division 1A athletic programs, intramural sports, and some 140 registered student organizations.
